The Ironhawks Finish 2nd at the FIRST Robotics World Championship

After six weeks of build season and three regional qualifiers, Meridian's FIRST Robotics team — the Ironhawks — placed second overall among more than 400 teams at the FIRST Robotics World Championship in Houston, Texas.

The team's robot, nicknamed "Falcon," was designed and built entirely by students in the Science & Innovation Wing's fabrication lab, with mentorship from faculty advisor Dr. Amir Rostami and a team of alumni volunteers.

"This is the culmination of three years of investment in our STEM program," said Head of School Dr. Eleanor Whitfield. "But more than the trophy, I'm proud of how these students worked as a team under pressure."

The Ironhawks will host an open build-season kickoff for interested students in September, with no prior robotics experience required.
